More Inchies

More of these little ‘Inchies’ – challenging on such a small scale but fun and a great way to use up scraps.

I have also made another tag

Blog Candy

I received some lovely blog candy yesterday from Hels who runs the Sunday Stampers challenge from her blog ‘Ink on my Fingers’. It’s a great blog, check it out here. Hels is Creative Design Team Co-Ordinator for The Artistic Stamper. She sent me stamps from The Artistic Stamper, fibres, Primas, chipboard flowers, beaded ribbon and other bits and pieces. She even sent the sticky backing for the stamps. Thank you Hels. I used some of the tiny Primas last night to embellish these – my first inchies – they’re brown again!

Make a moo

I haven’t tried this size (2.8cm x 7cm) before but enjoyed making this for the ‘quote’ challenge on Make a Moo or Two

The ‘quote’ is from a beautiful Leonard Cohen song.

I’m not sure whether these two go on to ‘dance to the end of love’ – may be they gave up along the way.

“Dance Me To The End Of Love”

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic ’til I’m gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Oh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Show me slowly what I only know the limits of
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We’re both of us beneath our love, we’re both of us above
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the children who are asking to be born
Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn
Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I’m gathered safely in
Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Sunday Stampers

Last weeks theme for the Sunday Stampers challenge was ‘Cars’. Difficult for me to make this ‘arty’ and I ended up doing this

Used my favourite colours and the only car stamp I own. It turned out OK for a basic card.

This is my entry for the ATC Wednesday challenge ‘Lace’. I like this better.

In my House

This weeks theme for In Myin-my-house-east House is ‘East’ – here’s my entry.

I used distress inks, Aged Mahogany and Spiced Marmalade with a little Red Currant Glimmer Mist and then spritzed with some water. Stamps are by Stampington and Hero Arts.

Sunday Stampers

I’m not sure where this week has disappeared to but I did complete this for the Sunday Stampers challenge earlier in the week and just got around to scanning it. The theme is anything with silver on it. silver

The frame is coloured with light Distress inks and silver ink and then stamped with Above the Mark’s ‘fragment’ stamp (I have used this loads) and an Italian Script stamp from Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers. These were embossed with platinum powder. The transparency is layered over an old book page (I first glued plain paper to her face so the script couldn’t be seen behind this part). The piece is finished with some beads and a fancy paper clip with a scrap of ribbon.

The frame measures approximately 2″ x 21/2″

Saturday again

Two more challenges done – but not today’s! Theme Thursday had ‘sewing’ as their title this week. I made an ATC using my favourite Paperartsy stamps (a set called Buttons from Ink and the Dog collection) and ‘real’ sewing to finish it off. Other stamps are from Oxford Impressions.

My second piece is a hanging to meet requirements for Rainbow Lady’s theme ‘Dangles’ and No Time to Stamp who have suggested ‘Hanging’. I took a literal meaning for these and produced this

Frames are coloured with distress inks and copper glimmer mists then stamped with images from Above the Mark (another great company who ship to the UK). I have coloured the brads, eyelets, heart, key and keyhole with alcohol inks to tone in (they started out black). The words are printed on transparencies.

I think I need to get away from brown though!
